What Is It?

Palisades Sod Explained

Palisades Zoysia is a Zoysia japonica cultivar developed at Texas A&M University and released in 1996. It was bred specifically for salt tolerance, drought tolerance, and a medium blade suitable for residential and commercial use across the Gulf Coast.

Best fit: residential and commercial across south Louisiana, especially in coastal parishes where salt influence is real. Palisades is grown by Woerner Turf at Donaldsonville and Wilderness Turf in north Louisiana, plus several other Louisiana sod farms.

Where Palisades does not fit: deep dense shade (Geo or Trinity LS handle shade better), or premium upscale installs that want the finer blade of Z. matrella varieties. Palisades is the right pick for mainstream Louisiana residential where salt tolerance matters.
