Blade: Very fine blade, 1.5 to 3 mm
Mow: 0.5 to 1.5 inches
Zeon is the premium-of-the-premium Zoysia. Fine blade, golf-course-quality look, used at TPC tournaments and Augusta National. The top tier for Louisiana upscale yards that want the absolute best.
Zeon Zoysia is a pure Zoysia matrella cultivar developed by Bladerunner Farms and released in 2007. It was bred for golf-course quality and is used at PGA Tour TPC venues and at Augusta National Golf Club.
Best fit: ultra-upscale Louisiana residential, golf-course-style backyards, and showcase commercial properties. Zeon delivers the finest blade and tightest density of any commonly-supplied Zoysia in Louisiana, with strong shade tolerance and excellent drought performance once established.
Where Zeon does not fit: anywhere price matters or where a reel mower will not be used regularly. Zeon needs the premium maintenance to justify the premium price. Mainstream family yards are better served by Empire or Geo.

Both are premium fine-blade Zoysias. Zeon is finer, denser, golf-quality. Geo is the practical residential premium at lower price. Pick Zeon for showcase yards and ultra-upscale homes. Pick Geo for upscale family yards that want the premium look without the golf-course budget.
Zeon is the proven golf-quality classic since 2007. Innovation is the newer 2019 Texas A&M release with NTEP top performance and broader stress tolerance. Both are premium picks. Zeon for the proven golf-style. Innovation for the newer breeding with broader stress tolerance.
Zeon Zoysia is documented as being used at Augusta National Golf Club and at multiple PGA Tour TPC venues. The fine blade and tight density meet golf-course standards that other Zoysias do not.
Zeon typically costs 50-100 percent more per pallet than Empire and 20-40 percent more than Geo. The premium reflects the licensing, slower production, and limited grower network. Contractor pricing applies on volume.
Strongly recommended. Zeon's fine blade and golf-style cut height (0.5 to 1.5 inches) require a reel mower for clean results. Rotary mowers tear the blade and ruin the look that justifies the variety.
Yes, through licensed Sod Solutions Pro grower network. Lead times can run longer than Empire or Palisades because production is slower. Plan ahead for premium installs.
